How do I teach singing?
First of all, my approach to singing may vary from a student to another, but generally there are a few points in which I insist: the breathing, the posture and the diction. Those are important aspects of the voice that are studied and taught as “classical technique”, but I believe that any singer could use it, in his/her own interest of vocal health!
However, regarding the repertoire, I like it to be varied specially for beginners. I think it important for my students to discover their own style and the possibilities of their voice, from popular to classical songs: Broadway “classics” or Jazz “standards”, folk music, German Lieder, French mélodies or Italian arias… There is also the possibility to prepare Royal Conservatory Examinations, which is a good way to work on a varied “classical” style without neglecting other aspects such as vocalizing, and developing ear-training and sight-singing.
I do speak five languages (English, French, Spanish, German and Italian), so I can be of good help if you are curious to sing in those languages. Lessons can be taught in English or French.

Comment est-ce que j’enseigne le chant?
Tout d’abord, mon approche varie sensiblement d’un étudiant à l’autre selon ses besoins et ses aspirations, mais généralement j’insiste particulièrement sur certains points tels que: la respiration, la posture et la diction. Ce sont des aspects dits de la “technique classique”, mais que je considère important dans l’intérêt de n’importe quel chanteur et de sa santée vocale!
Néanmoins, en ce qui concerne le répertoire, j’aime qu’il soit varié en style et genre. Je pense que tout chanteur devrait développer son oreille critique et découvrir les multiples capacitées de sa voix: comédies musicales, standards de jazz, musique folklorique, Lieder allemands, airs et mélodies en français ou italien… J’offre aussi la possibilité de préparer les examens du Royal Conservatory, qui est un bon moyen de travailler sur tous les aspects variés du chant sans en négliger d’autres tels que les vocalises, l’éducation auditive et la lecture à vue.
Étant moi-même polyglotte (français, anglais, espagnol, italien, allemand), je peux être utile pour ceux qui sont curieux de chanter dans ces langues. J’enseigne en anglais ou français.
